Steve Badger interview - Part 4: Concluding questions

Q: Who is Shirley Rosario and what is your relation to her?

A: Shirley is a professional player who works as a prop at the Bicycle Casino. We are partners on the Poker Babes website.

Q: Shirley Rosario writes on her website "He [Steve Badger] will not attend certain tournament events because of their unscrupulous ways". Can you give us a few examples of tournaments she is referring to?

A: Old news, she was referring to the World Series of Poker before Harrahs took over. I didn't go for a few years.

Q: On PokerPages.com you mention Henry David Thoreau and Mary Wollstonecraft as some of the people you admire. First did you mean Mary Wollstonecraft or Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley her daughter. Why do you admire these two people?

A: The mother. In 1792 she wrote "A Vindication of the Rights of Women", the first feminist manifesto in human history. Thoreau is responsible for both "Walden" and "On the Duty of Civil Disobedience". You don't need much more than those three things to have a happy life. That, and Jennifer Connelly movies of course.

Q: Henry David Thoreau writes in "Walden" (1854) "No face which we can give to a matter will stead us so well at last as the truth [...] Say what you have to say, not what you ought. Any truth is better than make-believe". Shirley Rosario writes in her bio about you "He is brutally honest and sometimes says things that others might get their teeth kicked for". Lots of people can't handle the truth as well as she does. What would you like to say to them?

A: Get over it. Truthful success is better than delusional failure.

Q: Besides Play Winning Poker do you have other websites that might be of interest to our readers, and can you give us a short description of each?

A: I have a classic movies website called Suspense Movies. I don't have as much on it as the poker site, but it was more fun doing. I particularly like creating something where there is nothing else on the Internet and someone is nearly forgotten who doesn't deserve to be. Like I have a profile of director John Sturges' films (The Great Escape, The Magnificent Seven, Gunfight at the OK Corral, etc.), and an article on forgotten '40s Femme Fatales, two of whom, Carole Landis and June Duprez, were also ahead of their time in different ways.
