The Master Classics of Poker, or MCOP, is set to take place at the Holland Casino Amsterdam from November 15-25. In its 26th year, the MCOP is one of the longest running live poker tournament series. For last year's tournament they doubled the schedule to include more than two dozen events in celebration of their 25th anniversary.
The highlight of the poker tournament is the MCOP €4,300 Main Event. Last year a local Dutch player, Hakim Zoufri, won the event for €275,608 after outlasting a field of 356 players. This was the fourth time in recent years that the trophy remained on Dutch soil, as David Boyaciyan (2011 - €382,200), Noah Boeken (2013 - €306,821) and Ruben Visser (2014 - €306,821) also notched recent victories in the Main Event.
This year's Main Event should prove to be equally exciting. The tournament is deep with talent and players start out with 30,000 in chips. Blind levels increase every 60 minutes during the first two opening flights on November 17 and 21, and every 20 minutes during a turbo flight on November 21.
Players bagging chips will combine for Day 2 on November 22, and the tournament will continue through November 24 until this year's winner is crowned.
