Bovada Poker Throws in the Towel

Fri, 18 Nov 2016

Ignition Casino has acquired the poker sector of Bovada's online gambling operation. Bovada is the largest unregulated U.S. online poker site and was facing serious pressure to comply with U.S. regulations. According to sources it will discontinue its poker offering beginning September 30th.

Players were notified of the change by email and instructed to create an account with Ignition and transfer their balances before time runs out. It is recommended that players start the change process before the September 30th deadline and Ignition is offering several promotions to encourage this.

Once the initial transfer has been completed players will receive a $10.00 cash bonus immediately. A "redeemable" bonus up to $100.00 will be offered for customers who make an independent deposit to their Ignition Poker accounts. As an added incentive Ignition Casino will hold a series of five freeroll tournaments exclusively for players who make a transfer from Bovada Casino. The final tournamenet will be held on September 22nd.

There has been some concern from Bovada customers about moving to a site that was just established in March 2016. Both sites have a great deal of similarities. They both use the Betting Partners affiliate program, the same anonymous tables, Zone Poker games and a weekly $100K feature tournament.

The change which will not affect Bovada's sportsbook, casino and racebook products.
