Joe McKeehen Takes World Series of Poker at 24 Years of Age

Fri, 18 Dec 2015

A star was born at the 2015 World Series of Poker as Joe McKeehen took the bracelet as the 2015 WSOP Main Event Champion with a jackpot of over $7.6 million. The 24 year old champion from Philadelphia led wire to wire at the final table. Along the way McKeehen knocked out the best known pro poker player of them all in Daniel Negreanu. McKeehen has career earnings of over $11 million and is not going anywhere anytime soon with a future that looks to be unlimited.

McKeehen is a graduate of Arcadia University with a degree in mathematics and entered the final round with a huge lead of two third of all of the chips that were on the poker table. On his winning night he was rocking a Philadelphia 76ers jersey. Poker has many flakey and eccentric personalities and McKeehen is no different as he drives a Prius and lives with his parents in North Wales and prefers to wear sweatpants and t-shirts.

McKeehen got his start in the typical way of the modern era which was by playing online for free as a junior high student and then be began winning big money, far more than what he was making as a grocery store employee and he decided to go all in on a pro poker career.

McKeehen has always stated his believe in himself and his self-confidence and that should only continue to grow into what should be a dominant career.
