Vicky Coren Mitchell Becomes European Poker Tour Two-Time Champ

Thu, 22 May 2014

The first two-time champion on the European Poker Tour is Vicky Coren Mitchell. She won the 2006 EPT London and she recently won her second event, the 2014 EPT event in Sanremo Italy. She beat a field of 556 players to win the $657,780 first place prize. She is the first player in ten years of the European Poker Tour to win two main event titles.

Vicky Coren Mitchell is not a full time poker player as she also has a job as a writer. “I've long since lost the sense of what my day job is. Am I a professional writer who plays poker as a hobby? Or a professional poker player who writes as a hobby?” she said.

Coren Mitchell started the final table of the San Remo event as the short stack but she was able to work her way up the ladder. When it got to three-handed play she had a key hand where she hit trip 10’s to double up through Jordan Westmorland. When it got down to heads-up she was able to defeat Giacomo Fundaro for the title.

Final Tournament Results
1 Victoria Coren Mitchell $657,780
