Poker professional J.C. Tran recently won his second WPT Title as he was victorious in the WPT Rolling Thunder tournament. A total of 456 players put up the $3,500 to enter the no-limit holdem main event. Tran was able to come out on top and take home the $302,750 first-place prize.
With his second WPT title, Tran became the 20th player in poker history to win more than one WPT main event titles. Tran won his first WPT title back in 2007 when he won the Reno Poker Challenge. Tran has also won a couple of World Series of Poker bracelets in his career. He made the final table at the 2013 WSOP but finished a disappointing fifth.
Tran did not have an easy road to winning the WPT title as he started the final table as the second shortest stack. He was able to work his way up the ladder and he eventually took out Preston Harwell for the title. The final battle between the two players lasted 62 hands. Harwell took home $200,000 for his second place finish.
