Mon, 13 May 2013

The first-ever WSOP Asia Pacific main event was won by poker pro Daniel Negreanu. It was the fifth World Series of Poker bracelet for Negreanu who also took home more than $1 million for the win.

A total of 405 players put up $10,000 Australian dollars which made for a prize pool of almost $4 million dollars. In the end it was Negreanu who won the big event. “I needed the win and wanted it so bad; I didn't want any drama; I just needed to get that monkey off my back. It helps my confidence going into Vegas," said Negreanu.

There were five WSOP gold bracelets awarded. Negreanu won the main event while the other four winners were Phil Ivey, Bryan Piccioli, Aaron Lim and Jim Collopy.
