The 2013 World Series of Poker main event was won by poker pro Ryan Riess. The last nine players came back to play the final table in November and it was Riess winning the bracelet and $8.4 million dollars.
The 2013 World Series of Poker main event began back in July with a total of 6,352 players. The field was narrowed to the final nine in about a week’s time and the November Nine played the final table for about nine hours until just two players remained, Ryan Riess and Jay Farber.
The World Series of Poker main event has a lot of amateur players in it every year but poker pros have been dominant recently, winning the last six titles. “Ever since I saw Chris Moneymaker win this event in 2003, I knew it was something I wanted to experience too,” Riess said, “I’m surprised it came so quickly.”
